MY STORY
For me coaching is not just a career, it's a calling. Like my clients I have had to make courageous choices along the way to establish and walk a path that was truly my own. I left a highflying career in investment management, that compensated me tremendously, both financially and in terms of title and status. People thought I was crazy to leave at the pinnacle of my career. However, I knew in my bones that while I was busy achieving outward success, Dante's words described my inner world.
"Midway in the journey of our life
I came to myself in a dark wood,
for the straight way was lost"
It took courage, self-awareness and the help of an excellent coach to accept that I had lost my way. The choice to leave came at a high cost to both ego and wallet. I have not for a second looked back in regret.
My drive to help people find their authentic path through Dante's woods has manifested itself in various forms. I am trained as a co-active coach at the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), one of the world's premier coach training schools. I became a co-active coach because this approach aligns with my belief that people are not problems to be fixed, but whole and resourceful beings. I enjoy it when my clients feel empowered as they discover what gives them joy and meaning through the co-active coaching relationship. Importantly, I have found the co-active process to be an impactful way to evoke transformation. My clients tend to be accomplished professionals and entrepreneurs, seeking greater fulfillment in their career, relationships and life in general. While I coach both men and women, I realized through my work that men in midlife were in need of a supportive place to explore what it means to be in midlife. To address this I founded a group for men in San Francisco which organizes regular meetings and seminars.
