Introduction to: Jane Rosen - Looking With Your Whole Body
I have always liked the reminder that the true journey is not so much about a change in geography as it is about changing how we see. In some respects, seeing has a lot to do with listening, and particularly in these crazy times, people often seem to be talking at each other, not truly listening.
The interview with sculptor and artist Jane Rosen - Looking With Your Whole Body - struck me as a wonderful example of how one person has learned to make a cognitive shift in how she perceives and relates to the world, particularly to living things. Jane's mode of 'seeing' is much more connected, more alive in a manner of speaking, then the more common act of 'looking', which is pretty much limited to what we see with our eyes.
Sometimes as we get older, 'perception' can become increasingly selective - choosing it's witnesses carefully, depending upon one's existing beliefs. Jane Rosen breaks that mold and I think this article would make a fun and rewarding read for any Good Lifer.
